How do finance companies which are not members of KKB assess credit applications in Turkey?
  • If the applicant is one of their existing customers, they assess the application by using their own data,
  • The applicant is searched against the negative list of TCMB (The Central Bank of Turkey),
  • They evaluate the application based on the information declared by the applicant,
  • They assess the application by using their own investigation methods.

But these are not enough for making reasonable credit decisions !

  • The members, by using online connections, can access more comprehensive (all closed accounts over the past 5 years and all open accounts) and more complete (not only negative data such as defaults but also favorable information about previous on-time payments) information which enables them to make faster and more accurate credit decisions,
  • CRS highlights slow or erratic payments, arrears and defaults enabling members to distinguish more promptly between erratic or forgetful payers who represent no real credit risk and those who are more likely to go default,
